Get to Know Us

Pfitzner Meats & Butchery is a family run business sourcing meat straight from their own paddocks, to share with you.

Ian Pfitzner was born and raised on a dairy farm in Bordertown, a small country town located on the South East and is the lead in this story.

With humble beginnings, a lifetime of farming experience and a hard work ethic, Ian is passionate about regenerative farming practises, maintaining the soil and pasture.

A city girl meets a country boy in 1996 and soon, Ian and Julia were married in 1998.
Fast forward to 2024, Ian and Julia, with their four children have built their farming business from the ground up.

Sarah, Sam, Jasmine and Jake have all grown up on the farm, doing their part when needed. The boys more so as they inherited their father’s passion for farming. The girls however, off to uni.

But enough about us, let’s talk meat.
All stock is well looked after roaming across the 5000 acres of fresh pasture, living in a healthy environment, promoting healthy development. All stock are naturally healthy, without the use of vaccines, antibiotics and hormones.

Stock are able to thrive when the pasture is luscious and full of nutrients, thanks to Ian’s regenerative practises.

One of the methods Ian uses to maintain soil is through the use of dung beetles.

Dung beetles are naturally on the property and encouraged to work through lack of pesticides preventing their reproduction.
